On May 17 2017 we lost the rock legend Chris Cornell. The cause of death is officially suicide. He was 52 when he died and he was on tour with his most known band the grunge giant Soundgarden which has made classics such as SpoonmanFell on Black Days, My Wave, The Day I Tried to Live, and Black Hole Sun. Not only was he the singer of one of the biggest grunge bands of all time SoundgardenThis meant he is considered as important to the grunge genre as
Eddie Vedder, Kurt Cobain, Scott Weiland, and Layne Stayley. He was also the singer for the super groups Temple Of The Dogand Audioslave. The latter of the two had three members from the band Rage Against the Machine it had guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford, and drummer Brad Wilk. However even though Audioslave has those names that are big in the metal genre it didn't sell as well as his grunge band the aforementioned Soundgarden. Soundgarden is considered one of the best grunge bands along: Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains. He is known for his vocal range going from the typical grunge voice style and his brutal highs. He is also known for his innovative and complex guitar style. He has won five different awards and was nominated a total of eighteen times for various awards. Soundgarden has been around since the early 80's and has had a large influence on the rock and metal scene, one of those artists that has been influenced by him is Corey Taylor the front man of the popular metal band Slipknot and rock band Stone Sour. Chris Cornell has also on occasion stated that he has been influenced by bands like Black Sabbath, The Beatles, and even Jimi Hendrix just to name a few.

Across all of his bands a handful of his albums are certified platinum and some are even multiple time certified platinum.
The most known album to be released by Chris Cornell was released by his band Soundgarden and that album is Superunkown which will have links at the bottom of the article with a link to his some of his top hits. Now after his death not only has Soundgarden cancelled the rest of their current tour. He left Eddie Vedder from the band Pearl Jam as the last big name in grunge that is still alive. This moment will stay in the heads of grunge fans and rockers for years to come. RIP Chris Cornell born July 20 1964 and died May 17 2017. He was a father and a husband, he will be missed. Best of Chris CornellSuperunknown.
